THE PROVIDENCE BILTMORE
Finard Coventry Hotel Management engaged CM Communications to develop public relations strategy surrounding its $16 million acquisition of the historic Providence Biltmore, a landmark 292-room hotel located in the heart of downtown. The agency designed and executed both national and local initiatives comprised of top-tier media outreach and an invitation-only Gala event designed to commemorate the hotel’s 90th anniversary and to announce a $10 million-plus renovation plan. An Associated Press national feature story, coverage in major metro business media throughout New England, and TV news segments on all major network affiliates were a direct result of the hotel’s inaugural PR campaign.
In addition, the Biltmore showcased its grand ballroom and social catering capabilities at the Gala where keynote speaker Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee addressed over 300 community leaders. Higher than average occupancy levels and a surge in private event bookings have been attributed to the exposure generated as a result of these efforts. CM Communications is currently working on the design of the Biltmore’s new website and developing marketing and PR strategies to reposition and promote the property through its upcoming renovation.
